Helloooo sweet Avery! He is the second little man to join the D'amico family! It is only tradition to capture the love of Harry Potter (Just like we did with big brother Aiden's newborn shoot) his parents have. I have been with this family since Amber and Adam have said I do. I absolutely love watching their family grow. You two boys are lucky to have such fun parents!!!
Kayla & Brandon :Military Aviation Museum, Pungo Virgini
It poured the morning of Brandon Soto and Kayla Bond's wedding. The rain was so heavy that it ran in rivers down dirt driveways and washed across the country lanes that wind through the cornfields and farm stands of Pungo. They weren't worried one bit. Miraculously, the clouds parted and the sun streamed through in all of its golden glory just in time for the ceremony. The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach seemed the only place fit for this wedding. The daughter of an F-14 Navy pilot, Kayla grew up around airplanes and traditions. Naturally, instead of walking down the aisle like a million other brides.....Kayla and her father rolled up to the ceremony in a red WWII era Waco biplane. Of course! The groom, with a smile from ear to ear, stood patiently waiting for his beautiful bride to step down out of the cockpit and into his open arms. At sunset they exchanged vows next to the runway.
Afterwards, they were all joined by family and friends overlooking the ceremony site to celebrate. Not to be outdone by an airplane, the mother of the bride, a mechanical engineer, also known for her magic in the kitchen, unveiled the Pittsburgh cookie table. Over 20 different kinds of cookies were spread from end to end on pedestals and trays....all baked lovingly by Kayla's mother, grandmother, aunts, and family friend. It was a sight to behold! The wedding party and guests danced the night away, a blur of deep plum satin and bowties. For the father-daughter dance, the bride and her very tall father walked somberly to the dance floor, only to surprise everyone with a perfectly choreographed Macarena. It was yet another surprise for this one of a kind wedding. What else would you expect from a bride and groom who met while operating a 30,000 pound vehicle? Nothing short of amazing! Congratulations to the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Soto!

A Floral Flamingo cake smash: Norfolk VA
The sassiest of sass just turned one this month... I am still trying to figure out where that year went.
BOY did she wake up showing her new personality... sucking her thumb out of the blue... freaking out over not holding her Auntie Momo's iphone (which she could have cared less about the day before). I have a feeling the terrible two's have started 12 months early.
This gal loves to eat (can you tell by those fabulous chunky thighs?!) Sometimes you have to shove a paci in to distract her from food... Well it was a different story when it came to her birthday cake. She did not really care about chowing down but chose to rub it all over her teeny tiny toes. (I am convinced she may be part Monkey).
Special Thank you to our friends at Norfolk Wholesale for our beautiful flowers and our sweet Molly for creating her smash cake!
Sawyer is one and expecting a new sister: Kingsmill Resort, Williamsburg Va
This one year session is so dear to my heart!! I cannot help but get emotional thinking about Sawyer turning one!
This time last year I was heading up to Williamsburg, a day shy from being 37weeks pregnant, to document Sawyers newborn session. His session is one that I will always remember.
I drug my sister up there with me because I was so worried about going into labor alone on the interstate. Driving up there I felt some crazy pains in my stomach but they disappeared as the evening went on.
I remember arriving and meeting this perfect little baby and thinking how I would have one of my ownin just a few short weeks. The session went great, Sawyer was amazing and Morgan and I packed up to head home. We stopped and got a spicy chicken sandwich from good ole chick fil a.
I was so motivated when I came home that I was determined to finish his newborn session so I could start my nesting phase. Well the moment I emailed off that gallery to Stephanie I tucked myself in bed. It felt like 5 seconds later (really an hour had probably gone by). My water broke... and off to the hospital we went to bring our baby girl into the world. My good friend warned me to always shower from here on out, and stay away from Chick fil a's spicy chicken sandwich. Well she was so right... Thanks Somer.
I remember chatting with Stephanie after her response email and telling her how I was in the hospital. I absolutely love that girl. She and Tom both got married at Kingsmill so we all had that connection, I met them while assisting at their wedding and I am so glad I have been able to keep in touch with them.
Now even more exciting news for the Sawyer family. We photographed this session on their Wedding anniversary, at Kingsmill and celebrated Sawyer hittingthe big ONE. BUT the best news is that he will be a big brother to a sweet baby sister this winter!!! I am so beyond excited for them!!!
Cheers to all the pink pineapple decor ;)
