A playful pink twist on a classic fall soiree at the Cavalier Hotel

Rebecca and Ryan

Rebecca & Ryan chose the Cavalier for its timeless architecture, history, and its effortlessly playful and vibrant decor. Exactly how the couple would describe their style. These two chose nods of classic and traditional wedding elements such as a classic dress, simple invitations, a historic venue, a plain all white tiered cake that was adorned with flowers, and the string quartet.

Rebecca chose the pink color palette, Coastal Cocktails tasting bar, a crossword about their relationship during cocktail hour, a late night boozy coffee bar, writing their vows together, and their music selections to add a little fun and playfulness to the day. Their ceremony songs were all modern songs played by a string quartet.

It was a beautiful November sunset as the two popped a champagne top and toasted amongst the historic belle tower. They danced the night away and snuck out for a cigar break under the warm evening. At the end of the night guests sipped cappuccino martinis before saying farewell to the bride and groom underneath the sparkler exit.

A Magical Mountain Wedding in Beuna vista

Jessi and Michael

This is a going to be a long post for one of our very special brides. Our Jessi girl (who I have had the honor of knowing since elementary school girl scouts) was one of our final Brides of an amazing group of girls to tie the knot. Jill (with former Sunkissed events) and I have been in every wedding of Jessi’s best friend group for half a decade. Getting these girls down the aisle is always a fun and wild time but also walking into the arms of family again.

Jessi’s wedding was also the end of a chapter for our coordinator pal Jill, who retired from the wedding world this past month. Jill and I have ridden out weddings with these gals all over the east coast! From down south in NC with CRAZY thunderstorms, a tropical storm and covid reschedule (x2 or maybe 3), to our last wedding in the fall mountains of Bueno vista Virginia for Jessi. What a gorgeous wedding to wrap up this time with her.

Onto the adorable newlyweds. Michael, the Brides new husband, had surprised Jessi with a getaway to this magical place, Balcony Downs retreat. You are able to air b n b multiple buildings on this magical property. Every view made for a breathtaking backdrop.

As your drive down the tree lined driveway you come upon the main white house that sits in the forefront of a color pallet of fall painted all over the mountain. Over to the right, sits the old brick dairy barn, where the couple decided to exchange their vows. The celebrations continued with guests dancing the night away in the barn filled with twinkle lights and multiple fire pits.

Jessi, the Godmother of Fairy hair, had all of her ladies locks bedazzled and ready for the big day. Her decor of antiques had been collected for years leading up to her wedding. The most special touch was that the bride designed and created her OWN wedding gown from her Grandmothers gowns with a little help from her talented momma. You can read the snippet of her story in one of the photos below.

The night was beautiful and so fun. I thank Jessi and Michael for allowing us to travel to document this day and actually take a moment to stop and enjoy the fall season (which rarely ever happens during wedding season on the east coast!). I wish you both many, many years of happiness!
