Family Farm Wedding Portraits in Suffolk Virginia :Rebecca & Josh

A Suffolk Virginia Family Cotton Farm Bridal gallery

It seems to be a common theme, Covid pushing back another wedding. Luckily these two took a modern approach to their pandemic dilemma. When the news hit that their June date was a no go for their big dream wedding, they threw together an intimate family and friends ceremony in her moms back yard.

Fast forward to their rescheduled wedding date which was this October. Yet again, covid struck so the couple decided to throw on their best outfits and meet out on Josh’s parents Cotton farm. Their bridal portraits could not be anymore gorgeous! Thank y’all for fueling my farm loving soul!

Jenn and Joe: Beach inspired summer elopement at Baja Restaurant, Sandbridge, VA

A little romantic a little modern and a little boho elopement at Baja Restaurant, Sandbridge, VA

Let’s meet Jenn and Joe. Their perfect date idea of tacos and margaritas on a beach somewhere SPEAKS to my soul! That’s actually what these two friends become soulmate had on their first date.

The engagement was a total surprise to Jenn while they were up at Snowshoe resort in WV. Both Joe and Jenn work in the restaurant business so the winter time is their getaway from the job. Joe planned a dinner and outdoor stroll after for the two. While passing the huge Christmas tree, Joe dropped to one knee and popped the question. Jenn was shocked but of course she said YES : )

Although COVID threw a wrench into the original big day, Jenn and Joe celebrated with a smaller, more intimate elopement. The two had a small elopement at Baja Restaurant in Sandbridge, VA with the colors of sage, light blue, and white abound. The weather was beautiful and let me tell you about that sunset lighting, made for gorgeous pictures of the already astonishing bride and her new groom.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Shetler! Thank you so much for letting us be apart of your big day!

A romantic rainy day wedding in Virginia beach: Brooke and Tony

When the forecast called for rain on this day, it was no joke. The weather stood strong and poured on us the whole time but Brooke and Tony were simply amazing when it came running outside in the pouring rain under a tiny clear umbrella for just a couple of quick portraits.

The crowd was great and danced all night long. Rain and mud, Brooke and Tony made it the best day.

Thank you to our amazing team of vendors!

A Burgundy and Gold Fall Hermitage Museum and Gardens Wedding

A Romantic Garden wedding in at the Norfolk Hermitage Museum: Devon and Lauren

Meet Lauren and Devon. Their style is one of my favorites. A super moody and romantic theme that includes a rich color palette of burgundy and greens with pops of gold that classically portrays Laurens love for Halloween.

When the two got engaged, Devon planned out a romantic dinner in Williamsburg, where Lauren had no idea he was going to pop the question. After she said I do, he ended the night with a ghost tour, the perfect finale for his bride to be.

The threat of Covid had the couple guessing if their perfect October date would be pushed to early spring. With Less than 2 weeks to go, their luck had changed for the better. All guests were able to witness the start of their journey as Mr & Mrs Ward. The cool night was perfect for dancing to DJ Julz Gat. Guests mingled around the tent which had a romantic glow from the twinkling candles placed strategically by the wandering petal in tall golden candelabras draped burgundy and greenery.

Guests tossed lavender petals at the two as they headed off for their final kiss before entering the Rolls Royce ending the night on a perfect note.

A huge thank you to the vendor team that created this beautiful day

Elise and Nathan: Intimate shoreside Whalehead Club wedding session

Romantic yet simplistic Corolla North Carolina Wedding

I have never met a couple more easy going than these two. Not ONLY did they have to change their date due to a pandemic, they had to do a complete venue change as well. The week before when I saw the weather threat of tropical storm Sally that was to hit OBX, I just thought you HAVE got to be KIDDING me right now. These two have probably had the worse planning luck I have ever witnessed.

I remembering arriving that gloomy windy, day. I hobbled up the beach house stairs in my hunter boots, raincoat and pelican case in hand (almost tripping going UP the stairs due to my boot buckle, that would have been ugly). The threat of rain was very well pronounced. All I could think of was the worst case scenario that Elise would be freaking out about her ceremony.

When I got to the 3rd floor, I saw her. Looking like Carrie Underwood’s baby sister. A smile on her face and warmth radiating from her. Not a worry in sight. This girl, legit handled the day with nothing but grace and smiles. I knew I had to give her the best. Even If that meant packing up everyone in the car like sardines to get a photo of them kissing in front of their original ceremony site, The Whale head club.

I can honestly say this wedding was one of my top favorites of this year. Not only do I adore these two but their group of friends are officially family. I have had the honor of photographing 2 of Elises bridesmaids while working alongside my sweet friend Jill with Sunkissed events.
